My name is Jeremiah i am 15 yrs old, i was born and raised in Chicago(rogers park). I go to Gordon Tech High School/DePaul college prep, and im a sophomore in highschool. I joined MAVReC to voice my opinion and help make a difference in Chicago.

I am attending for MAVReC because i want to make a difference  for the city or help it and hopefully it will work for oppressed communities throughout the United States, to learn/observe/help solve the problems that plague many oppressed communities. My name is William Kang. I am 17 years old and an incoming senior in high school. I joined MAVReC because I want to help build solidarity between the Korean community and other oppressed peoples worldwide, learn more about people’s experiences in their own communities and their struggles, as well as to spread awareness about the many issues affecting our communities.

My name is Cobie Harris and I’m 15 years old. I live in L-town, on North Avenue. I joined MAVReC because i want to keep my older brothers safe and out the streets. Brett Coleman

I’m a doctoral candidate in Community and Prevention Research at UIC. I co-created MAVReC with youth to provide a space for young men of color to resist stereotypical and marginalizing representations and to refocus violence prevention on systemic violence and root causes, not just individual’s behavior.
